History
Oscar Valdemar Risom (1846–1895)[2] was a music publisher in Copenhagen (Denmark) between 1872 and 1879 with approx. 100 to 130 music publications. He founded his music and art store (Musik- og Kunsthandel) on 26th November 1872[3]. Already in December 1872, he advertised the publishing of four music works[4]. After 7 years, he went out of business in May 1879[5] and sold his music publisher rights and plates to C.C. Lose (F. Borchorst)[1][6]. Already one month later in June 1879, his plates went to Wilhelm Hansen, as C.C. Lose (F. Borchorst) sold his company due to his bad medical condition.
Known composers whose works were published by Oscar Risom include Henrik Hennings, Orla Rosenhoff, and Ludvig Schytte.
