History

A series for small orchestra. It was issued from the early 1840s until about 1892.

The same company issued a similar series of Overtures for small orchestra: Sammlung von Ouvertüren aus Opern und Operetten etc. für 8-, 12-, 15-, 18- u. 20stimmgen Orchester, and the Ouvertüren (operatic overtures) series for smaller groups.

Similar series included Litolff's Salon-Orchester, Odeon, Salonorchester, and Lyra.
