Carl Iver Plenge (1817–1905) was a Danish music publisher who purchased a music store with lending library from Peder Christian Schoubye in May 1845 at Købmagergade 57 in Copenhagen. He is primarily known for expanding the lending library, which contained around 27,000 music publications by 1852, and for publishing works by composer Hans Christian Lumbye from 1856 to 1861 on commission. In 1870, Plenge sold the company to H.V. Schytte, who continued operating under the name C. Plenges Musikhandel until the firm was finally acquired by Kgl. Hof-Musikhandel in 1883.

Publisher catalogues are not known to exist. However, a lending library catalogue for piano music from the year 1875 exists. This catalogue is highly detailed, making it a valuable research source, particularly because it contains publications from music periodicals that are often missing in other catalogues.
For further research, the page Research Sources for Denmark contains links to catalogues from other Danish publishers.
