Luca Kochi Newman (ルカ河内ニューマン) (b. 2010) is a young pianist and composer of British and Japanese descent who has already attracted international attention for his exceptional musical talent and versatility.
In 2023, he made his spectacular orchestral debut performing Mendelssohn's Piano Concerto No. 1 with the Romanian Orchestra. Prior to this, he performed a recital at the Athens Athena Musical Theatre in Romania in 2022, and has appeared at Bechstein Hall in 2025 and Wigmore Hall in London in September 2025. His next appearance will be in Japan, in the summer of 2026, where he will perform a recital.
Luca is currently studying at the prestigious Purcell School for Young Musicians in the UK, where he has excelled by winning the school's concerto competition and performing Mozart’s Piano Concerto No. 24 with the school’s orchestra. His own compositions have also been performed by fellow musicians, showcasing his emerging voice as a composer.

As a composer, Luca has written three symphonic poems, one piano concerto, a piece for Jazz Big Band and numerous chamber and solo piano works. At the age of just 16, he is already recognized for his mature musical worldview.
