Luca 河内 Newman (b. 2010) is a young pianist and composer of British and Japanese descent who has already attracted international attention for his exceptional musical talent and versatility.
In 2023, he made his spectacular orchestral debut performing Mendelssohn's Piano Concerto No. 1 with the Romanian Orchestra. Prior to this, he performed a recital at the Athens Athena Musical Theatre in Romania in 2022, and is scheduled to appear at Bechstein Hall in 2025 and Wigmore Hall in London in September 2025.
Luca is currently studying at the prestigious Purcell School of Music in the UK, where he has excelled by winning the school's concerto competition and performing Mozart’s Piano Concerto No. 24 with the school’s orchestra. His own compositions have also been performed by fellow musicians, showcasing his emerging voice as a composer.
