Possibly composed to be used as extra numbers for Cesare Pugni's ballet with the same name, re-staged by Alexander Gorsky (the dedicatee) for the Imperial Ballet, with musical additions and revisions to Pugni's score. First presented at the Imperial Mariinsky Theatre on December 16, 1912.
