| Extra Information | As these solos depict the adventures of an imaginary gnome called Sirvirus, it seemed appropriate to use non-normal key signatures / scales. Hence, this set of 5 short piano solos is based on experimenting with not using the default setting of matching key signatures in both hands. Instead, the solos use ‘scales’ comprising of a limited range of notes in each hand, one hand black notes, one hand white notes, mainly in the treble, with the aim of being odd, but also avoiding atonality. |
