  • A textless piece very widely disseminated in the late 15th century, with 31 sources extant. Jon Banks, in “Performing the Instrumental Music in the Segovia Codex” (Early Music, 27(2):294-309) feels that good options would be organ, 3 lutes, or 3 viols. He does not, though, rule out a vocal performance, since he says that many of the pieces in the Codex would have been known to many singers. However, the Denkmaler edition didn't print the words for this, so they would have to be obtained from another source.
  • Despite the previous comment, Grove Music's description is a motet with "text: verse of the resp In pace in idipsum; c.f. plainsong, cf AS, p.150".
