Possibly almost premiered in 1879, but omitted from the program at the last minute?? (Musical World July 19, 1879 describes a program organized by Praeger of his own works containing one of his trios, the quartet dedicated to Wagner, a piano sonata, a romance for cello, etc. and listing another piano trio in the program which however was omitted from the concert on announcement by the composer (who at a guess may not have felt it ready yet.)
