  • Two duets (from the sixth and seventh tableaux) were premiered on 16 December 1937 in Amsterdam, sung by August Seidler and Hans Hotter; Paul Hindemith conducted the Concertgebouw Orchestra. Incorporates previously composed music from the symphony of the same name. Subsequent occasional changes in orchestration were made as late as 1958, although these are not reflected in the published score. Editions of the libretto from c. 1965 onward contain facing English translation by Walter Ducloux.
