    • NOTE: *Originally presented in 4 acts, in a version completed by Ernest Guiraud which omits Act IV and distributes parts of its music to other scenes. The excised content was restored for performances in the early 20th century (published 1907), again constructed in 4 acts (Act V designated Act IV, Scene 2). This version, most common in 20th-century performances, swapped the positions of Act III and Act IV, while restoring recitatives and adding the now-famous chanson 'Scintille diamant' (using music from Le voyage dans la lune) and the septuor (using music of unknown origin with elements of the barcarolle). The section listing above agrees with Offenbach's original intent for the musical order, as does this page's table of contents, yet they do not agree with the majority of scores uploaded here.
