First published as Mélodies orientales (together with the pieces from Les minarets). The titles in Les brises d'Orient are sometimes odd: the preposition À before the dedicatée's initial becomes an initial too; also, in No.1/3 the Gothic H of the Mélodies orientales edition is changed to B (by misreading?). The title of No.1/4 Vieux Caire is merely the composition place in the Mélodies orientales edition; etc. All in all it seems that David didn't pay much attention to this reedition of his piano collection; it looks more like being published without his proof-reading. Compared with Mélodies orientales, the music is printed in a different way, so this is not just a further printing with new titles.
