History
James Power, (ca 1766-1834) from Galway, Ireland, started a musical instrument shop and publishing business with his brother William in Dublin in the 1790s. After his success with Moore's Irish Melodies, James moved to London in 1807, operating as a military instrument maker, music seller and publisher. Upon James' death in 1836, his widow continued the business for two more years.
