The table below gives the following information contained in this sortable table.

• Country — Official name by which the country is most commonly known. For most countries, this will be the English name.
• Continent — Continent to which the country belongs. If the country belongs to more than one continent, as is the case with some Eurasian countries, list the continent to which the country mostly belongs first.
• Copyright term for authors death — In the format Life + N years. Write "Life + 0" if it is not protected by copyright. Leave blank if it does not apply.
• Copyright terms based on publication — In the format N years. Write "0" if the work is not protected. Leave blank if it does not apply.
• Treaties — Main copyright treaties which the country has signed (e.g. Berne Convention). List in alphabetical order. All entries must be separated by a semicolon (;) and a space on both sides. For example: Berne ; TRIPS. The treaties must be listed by the following standardized names:

• Berne
• TRIPS
• UCC
• WCT

If the country is not a signatory country, but does observe a treaty or treaties, write the name of the treaty and "observer" in parenthesis.
