The earliest publication for the flute version on WorldCat is 1948, so if this is the earliest flute version, then the clarinet version is the original.
There was apparently a piano accompaniment devised for at least two of these by Antonio Lora, though it is unclear whether it was originally for the flute version alone, or the original clarinet version, since it seems to date from the 1930s. Lora was a pianist and composer, so he was not tied to either the flute or clarinet specifically.
