A 1855 catalog (of William Hall & Son) lists a Beyer work "Ernestine Polka (Strauss)" that may be the same, in which case this was first published by 1855.

On the other hand, Hofmeisters Monatsberichte lists a Beyer "Hillmar Ernestinen-Polka" (arrangement?) from 1848 - part of Beyer's Opus 92 set - but Beyer's opus 98 (European per Schott; opus numbers in different countries and publishers disagreed it's true) was 2 Etudes mélodiques sur deux Airs allemands populaires. (Heimliche Liebe. Der Nibelungen Hort).) (see HMB 1848 page 121.)- Schissel
