History
This business was founded in 1871 by Camille Metzner (1836–1884) and Monsieur Dupont. Metzner was a musician of German origin who sought refuge in France after the Franco-Prussian War of 1870, and Dupont was a draper from Nancy. Always located in the same place, at the time on Rue de la Poissonnerie, the shop was an important fixture of the local musical scene. They published works by Lorraine, Guy Ropartz, and Gaston Stoltz. It is unclear how long the business operated as a publisher of sheet music, but Dupont-Metzner went out of business entirely in late 2025 or early 2026.
