Hachem is a Lebanese musicologiest and composer based in Paris.
He began music at four and was composing by six. From thirteen he taught himself harmony, counterpoint and form, writing canons, sonatas and fugues without formal instruction. His early music was rooted in the Romantic tradition, especially Polish and Russian; hearing Lili Boulanger's Soir sur la plaine in 2024 turned him towards French music. At seventeen he left Lebanon, then at war, to study physics and mathematics in France and Belgium. He lives with a lung condition that often leaves him ill and bedridden. Both the war and his illness have shaped him as a composer. In 2026 he left the sciences for music, and he now studies composition at the Sorbonne. His works range from solo pieces to music for ensemble, choir and orchestra.
As an editor, he is preparing critical editions of the complete works of Lili Boulanger from the autograph manuscripts and first editions, each with critical commentary in French, English and German. He is a member of the Centre international Nadia et Lili Boulanger (CNLB).The following 3 pages are in this category, out of 3 total.
