Cellist, originally from Bohemia. Active as player and teacher in Cologne and Koblenz from 1875-1900. Cellist of Robert Heckmann (1848—1891) Quartet, teacher at Cologne Conservatory. His students included Engelbert Humperdinck. Performed chamber music from 1881 in Koblenz with Raphael Maszkowski, James Kwast, Albert Eibenschütz and Max Pauer. In 1889 he founded the Koblenz Conservatory with Maszkowski and Felix Ritter.
