Born in Wünschendorf, (Eschdorf according to Dresdenwiki) but whether this is the Austrian or German place of that name is not specified. Monatshefte für Musik-Geschichte Totenliste 1891 gives further that he was the first clarinettist of the Königskapelle of Dresden at the time of his death (and that he was 47, suggesting a birthyear of 1843??)
