Rebecca Babb-Nelsen (also known as Rebecca Nelsen) is an American soprano, poet, and German studies scholar based in Vienna, Austria.
Early Life and Education Nelsen completed her undergraduate and graduate studies at Texas Tech University in Lubbock, Texas. She earned a Bachelor of Music in Vocal Performance, graduating summa cum laude. She subsequently received a Master's degree in German Literature from the same institution. Performance Career In Vienna, Nelsen built a performance career primarily in opera and art song, and is a longtime ensemble member of the Vienna Volksoper, where she sings roles including Pamina in Die Zauberflöte, Lisette in La Rondine, Hanna Glawari in Die lustige Witwe, Rosina in Der Barbier von Sevilla, Adele in Die Fledermaus, Susanna in Die Hochzeit des Figaro, Violetta in La traviata, Despina in Così fan tutte, and Konstanze in Die Entführung aus dem Serail.

Research and Interdisciplinary Work Nelsen is also active in artistic research.
