About the Piece

My favorite movie is John Wayne's Rio Bravo. For anyone who knows this movie, Dmitri Tiomkin arranged and used a haunting trumpet piece (El Degüello), which is a functional part of the movie. I used to play the trumpet and always wanted to write a piece in this vein. "Call of the Lonely - Trumpet Voluntary" is the result.
