Extra Information
|
Spohr withdrew this quartet (and the previous one, Op.155 in Eb) from publication about a year after the date of composition, leaving it in manuscript until the 21st century. Opus number 157 assigned by Hans Glenewinkel in study of Spohr's chamber music in 1912.

Navigation etc.
An (earlier?) manuscript version exists, as with Op.155, but fewer details are available as to the differences between them.
