Sekles wrote several works for string quartet, including the Divertimento, Op.20, the passacaglia & fugue Op.23, and this one.

HMB (Monatsbericht (1924), p.34) refers to this as "Quartett (atonal)". (This may be because HMB likes to include the key, not because it's an actual subtitle. Worldcat's listings for Op.31 - see WorldCat and all related editions - do not seem to mention this subtitle, if it's in fact on the score at all.)
