Navigation etc.

As I recall, a manuscript of this overture can be found digitized among the composer's earlier works at the Goethe University Frankfurt (I think?...) and the composer's 2nd datebook has an incipit for an overture in D minor opening the same way as this overture- DDADDA, 6/8 - in an entry made June 1835. So it's possible he was working on this for some time...
